I was born in rural Victoria, Australia, and spent my childhood growing up on an apple orchard. My teenage and early adult years were spent in the beautiful, cosmopolitan city of Melbourne. After holidaying in New Zealand in 1979, I decided to move permanently in 1980. Later that year, I met my future husband, Phil. I lived in Christchurch until 1998 when I moved to Marlborough with Phil, to experience a more relaxed and quieter lifestyle.
Together with Phil, I am also a director of a business communications company in Blenheim.
My working background and experience has been varied and interesting and has included general nursing, television production, singer in a rock band, advertising agency production and telecommunications. I've also worked: as a manager on a major metropolitan newspaper; as a tertiary teacher and as a corporate staff trainer and facilitator. When I am not practicing counselling/psychotherapy I enjoy music, movies, art, current affairs, reading and writing, yoga, my home gym and walking.
I like to entertain at home in central Blenheim where I live with Phil and my cat, India. For my own mental health and personal growth, I have sought and received professional psychotherapy to assist me through many traumatic and challenging periods in my life.
