In 2011, I achieved full membership of the New Zealand Association of Pychotherapists (NZAP) and received the certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice (Psychotherapy).

In the 90’s, I also undertook three years training in Direct Reductive Analysis – a psychodynamically oriented insight therapy based on the work practised and developed by Suttie, Hadfield, Jung, Adler and others who had first studied with Sigmund Freud. This training was with the Glenburn Group, a private training group in Christchurch facilitated by Harry Cohen – founding and honorary life member of New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists.

My professional training in counselling and psychotherapy began in Christchurch in the late 1980’s and 90’s at the Campbell Centre (the counselling division of Presbyterian Support Services), where I gained a foundation Certificate in Counselling and a Certificate in Counselling (with Psychotherapy modules).

In 2007, I completed the final year of a 3 year Diploma in Counselling (applied) at CPIT in Christchurch. In 2009, I completed a Certificate in Professional Supervision (Level 5) from Weltec.
